Everything wears out. What matters is whether it wears out gracefully or all at once.
Waxed cotton canvas creases and fades where it is handled, and takes a re-wax once a year to stay water-repellent. Vegetable-tanned leather darkens rather than cracks, and a scratch becomes part of the surface instead of a hole in it.
Both can be stitched back together. That is the whole reason we use them, and the reason the guarantee runs to 5 years rather than to the end of the returns window.
Wax wearing thin, leather darkening, or canvas fading. Those are the material doing its job. Broken stitching, a failed zip or a snapped fitting we will repair or replace.
Small batches. When a colour runs out we make it again rather than replacing it with next season's.
Reduced because we have stopped making the colour, not because the price was inflated to begin with.
